How to Win at Sic Bo

Sic bo is a game of chance where players wager on the outcome of three dice rolled by the dealer. The table layout may vary from place to place, but the objective remains the same; to wager on specific dice combinations with a set probability of being rolled.

Once a player has made their bets, the dealer will shake the dice and the winning bets are paid according to strict rules. While it is tempting to splash chips around the table and make all sorts of alternate bets, nine times out of ten these bets will never hit pay dirt. By sticking to the Small and Big bets a player can extend their gaming session without fear of going broke.

A ‘Big’ bet is a wager that the total of all three dice will fall between 11 and 17 points (excluding triple ones). This bet pays out at 1:1. A ‘Small’ bet is a wager that the sum of all three dice will be between 4 and 10 (excluding triples). This bet pays out at 1:2. A ‘Specific Triple’ bet is a wager that a chosen number (for example, a six) will appear on all three of the dice rolled. This bet pays out at 180 to 1.

Although the payouts and odds for the different bets can vary from casino to casino, they tend to follow a specific pattern that will grow as the bet size increases. This is why it is important for players to choose the games that offer the best odds and a low house edge.
